benjaroy/riffPlugin

Riff is a plugin made up of nine opinionated skills for writing personal essays with Claude. The idea behind it is to treat writing with AI as a process to be supported instead of a product to be created, and to keep the writer in charge at every step of the way. Together, the skills form a pipeline so a user can start working with raw notes and get to a finished piece, but each skill also encourages time for pausing and reflection when appropriate. A persistent style profile built from a user's own writing keeps drafts in their voice across sessions, and the plugin is designed to handle personal material with care. The goal throughout is to make writing with Claude more fun and effective.

Popularity score: 45/100 from public GitHub signals only. It shows how widely used and maintained this is, not how well it works. Not included yet: the fake-star check. The security scan is shown separately and doesn't change the score. How we rank

Security

Scanned Nov 4, 2026 at commit 4193fe155fe4, with Cisco's open-source skill-scanner.

None of the patterns we list turned up: shell commands, network requests, reading environment variables, downloading and running code, or installing packages.

A scan lists patterns in the code. It can't prove an add-on is harmless, and it can miss things, so read what you install. How we scan
