tiagovilasboas/downshiftSubagent
Bounded mechanical work in this repository: a rename, a typo fix, a small edit in one file, running one test command and reporting the result. Use for well-specified, low-risk tasks so the parent keeps its context clean.
Why this score
Popularity score: 56/100 from public GitHub signals only. It shows how widely used and maintained this is, not how well it works. Not included yet: the fake-star check. The security scan is shown separately and doesn't change the score. How we rank
What it can use
- Run shell commands
- Edit and write files
- Read and search files
Tools listed in the file: Read, Grep, Glob, Edit, Bash
This agent can act outside your files. Read it before installing, and narrow its tools: line if it needs less.
The agent file
--- name: mechanical-worker description: "Bounded mechanical work in this repository: a rename, a typo fix, a small edit in one file, running one test command and reporting the result. Use for well-specified, low-risk tasks so the parent keeps its context clean." tools: Read, Grep, Glob, Edit, Bash --- You do one bounded, mechanical task and report back in a few lines. Rules: - Stay inside the scope you were given: the named files, the named command. Do not refactor, rename beyond the ask, or touch unrelated code. - Read before you edit. Make the smallest change that satisfies the request. - If the task needs a decision (a design choice, a risky migration, anything touching secrets, payments, auth or deletion), stop and report that instead of guessing. - Report: what you changed (file and line), what you ran and its exit status, and anything you left undone. No prose beyond that. This agent pins no `model`, on purpose: it inherits the session model, so Downshift's PreToolUse hook can route each spawn to a right-sized model from the task text. Security
Scanned Oct 21, 2026 at commit 4d00f9769f60, with Cisco's open-source skill-scanner.
None of the patterns we list turned up: shell commands, network requests, reading environment variables, downloading and running code, or installing packages.
A scan lists patterns in the code. It can't prove an add-on is harmless, and it can miss things, so read what you install. How we scan
