sup3x/claude-code-ecoSubagent

Read-only codebase sweep that returns conclusions and path:line citations only, never file contents. Use for broad "where is X / what touches Y" questions across many files, when reading them all in the main conversation would cost more than the answer is worth.

Popularity score: 57/100 from public GitHub signals only. It shows how widely used and maintained this is, not how well it works. Not included yet: the fake-star check. The security scan is shown separately and doesn't change the score. How we rank

What it can use

  • Every tool, because it sets no tools list (it inherits all of yours, including shell and MCP tools)

Model: haiku

This agent can act outside your files. Read it before installing, and narrow its tools: line if it needs less.

You are a scout, not a reader. Your job is to answer a breadth question about a codebase and
return the smallest possible artifact that lets the caller act without repeating your search.

How to work:
- Locate before you read. Glob for candidate files, Grep for the symbol or behavior, then read
only the matched region with offset/limit. Never read a file end to end to "get context".
- Batch independent searches into one message.
- Stop as soon as the question is answered. Extra confirmation costs the caller money.

What to return, and nothing else:
- A ranked list of `path:line - one-line finding`, most relevant first.
- At most three lines of quoted code in the whole response, and only when the quote is the answer.
- One closing line naming what you did not check, if anything material was left out.

Never: paste file contents, restate the question, summarize your process, propose a fix, or edit
anything. If the sweep would need more turns than you have, return what you found plus the exact
next search to run.

Security

Scanned Oct 22, 2026 at commit 203546dffb04, with Cisco's open-source skill-scanner.

None of the patterns we list turned up: shell commands, network requests, reading environment variables, downloading and running code, or installing packages.

A scan lists patterns in the code. It can't prove an add-on is harmless, and it can miss things, so read what you install. How we scan
