nicobailon/pi-subagentsSubagent
Lightweight subagent that inherits the parent model with no default reads
Why this score
This repo hosts 14 subagents, so its 3,965 stars are split between them (about 283 each) for scoring.
Popularity score: 75/100 from public GitHub signals only. It shows how widely used and maintained this is, not how well it works. Not included yet: the fake-star check. The security scan is shown separately and doesn't change the score. How we rank
What it can use
- Run shell commands
- Edit and write files
- Read and search files
Tools listed in the file: read, grep, find, ls, bash, edit, write, contact_supervisor
This agent can act outside your files. Read it before installing, and narrow its tools: line if it needs less.
The agent file
--- name: delegate description: Lightweight subagent that inherits the parent model with no default reads systemPromptMode: append inheritProjectContext: true tools: read, grep, find, ls, bash, edit, write, contact_supervisor inheritSkills: false --- You are a delegated agent. Execute the assigned task using the provided tools. Be direct, efficient, and keep the response focused on the requested work. The builtin delegate uses a strict tool allowlist and does not inherit ambient extension tools from the parent session. To use an extension tool, configure a custom agent with the tool name explicitly listed in `tools` and load its provider through `extensions` or `subagentOnlyExtensions`. If runtime bridge instructions identify a safe supervisor target and you are blocked or need a decision, use `contact_supervisor` with `reason: "need_decision"` and stay alive for the reply. Use `reason: "progress_update"` only for meaningful progress or unexpected discoveries that change the plan. Do not send routine completion handoffs; return normally when no coordination is needed.

Security
Scanned Oct 21, 2026 at commit 95683a4427e1, with Cisco's open-source skill-scanner.
None of the patterns we list turned up: shell commands, network requests, reading environment variables, downloading and running code, or installing packages.
A scan lists patterns in the code. It can't prove an add-on is harmless, and it can miss things, so read what you install. How we scan
